This Mzansi filmmaker who is now based in the States, is renowned for his infamous film Tsotsi which won the Academy Award For Foreign Language Film during 2005’s Oscar Awards. In 2007 he directed his first Hollywood feature, Rendition – a controversial CIA thriller that tells the story of Isabella El-Ibrahimi who tries to track down her husband, a chemical engineer who disappeared on a flight from South Africa to Washington.
This year, he releases his new directorial project X-Men Origins: Wolverine. X-Men Origins: Wolverine has been described as “staying true to the tone of the X-Men motion picture franchise, continuing the films’ balance between spectacle and reality, while heightening the emotions and relationships. X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the first chapter in the X-Men saga, unites Wolverine with several other legends of the X-Men universe, in an epic revolution that pits the mutants against powerful forces determined to eliminate them.”
The film will be released worldwide on April 29.
