This October and November, FILM + SCHOOL will run a special programme to coincide with the 17th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 17) which will be held in Durban later this year. This presents a wonderful opportunity to introduce and discuss the concept of climate change and the drastic effects that this is having on our planet through the medium of cinema.

The FILM + SCHOOL series is a film and appreciation initiative by the Bioscope Independent Cinema in Johannesburg. The central aims of the initiative are to introduce young learners to the art of filmmaking, to spark interest in a wide range of topics and to encourage discussion.

FILM + SCHOOL will run every Wednesday starting at 11am throughout the school term and will be free of charge.
