Minnette Vári is a self-proclaimed perfectionist. She postpones our interview for an hour because in her mind one of the videos at her Parallax exhibition is faulty and she just has to fix it. It doesn’t matter that none of us noticed this slight blunder at the exhibition opening.

Distinguished glass artist, Noel Hart, exhibits his colourful ‘Parrot Vases’ at the Edge Glass Gallery in Cape Town. Living most of his life amid reptiles, birds and insects in Australia’s rainforest, it is no surprise that Noel’s work is heavily influenced by a shrinking biodiversity.

Philippa Levitt is a non-practicing attorney who is passionate about conceptual art making. After working as an attorney for over 10 years, and forming an all female law firm which she ran for several years, she ditched what seemed to be a life-long career in law to follow her passion for art. This month she mounts her first solo exhibition during the Joburg Art Fair titled “Justice, Just Us, Just Icing”. We speak to her about her work and the inspiration behind it.
