T-shirts are a powerful communication tool, yet we see such few t-shirts carrying socio-political messages in South Africa. Instead we’re subjected to pointless t-shirts such as 100% Zuma t-shirts designed to advance individuals and politicians while the majority of our people live in dire conditions. Although you’ll find the occasional HIV/Aids awareness t-shirt, you seldom find t-shirts being used as a medium for grassroots resistance. Well, Blackwash is about to change all of that. Blackwash uses the FUCK project to force people to stand up and fight against continuous injustices committed against black people despite having a black government in power.
They believe we live in a country where the majority of people are black, but we are ruled by a government and a capitalist system that is anti-black, and this creates a big problem. “Our society is built off the exploitation of the black person and the exploitation of our labour,” explains Blackwash member, Pakama Ngceni.
According to Blackwash 1994 changed nothing except if one counts the small crumbs that are allowed to fall off the table into black hands. The same things that were happening in 1976 are still happening today. “The black man is still inferior and poor,” says Ngceni. She added that there’s no alternative voice for a black person because it’s become unacceptable to speak about race in the ‘new South Africa’ – it’s become taboo to say that you’re black and you’re suffering.
“We have a black government that still protects white interests, but no one is saying anything about it.” Instead we pretend we are a ‘Rainbow Nation’ where everyone supposedly has opportunities, but when you look beneath the surface the ordinary South African is still suffering. It’s become so normal to see black people suffering that no one is fazed by it anymore.
Blackwash’s dislike for the ‘Rainbow Nation’ notion is expressed in one of their t-shirts which reads as follows “Fuck the Rainbow Nation” and has a quote by the late Black Consciousness Movement leader, Steve Biko, that says: “If whites were intelligent [a] black middle class would be very effective in putting across to the world a pretty convincing integrated picture with still 70% of the population being underdogs.” Other t-shirts mock our education system and the newfound political party, COPE.
While some people may think the t-shirts are rude and insensitive, Blackwash members say this was the best way to get the message across and the vulgarity shows their level of anger. “If you are trying to unearth the injustices committed on the black man in South Africa, you can’t afford to be polite,” explains Ngceni.
Blackwash is armed with ideas of African intellectuals such as Steve Biko and Frantz Fanon – whom they believe are more relevant today than they were back then. In post-94 the black man is still suffering from cultural and economic domination. Unlike various t-shirt brands that use great politicians’ images without explaining their ideas, Blackwash is trying to refrain from using Biko or Fanon images, but would rather inform people about how relevant their ideas are to our current situation.
Blackwash is not just about t-shirts. They will also be involved in marches, spearheading awareness campaigns and creating dialogues on issues affecting black people.
For t-shirts or information on upcoming marches and events, contact Pakama Ngceni at blackwashproject@gmail.com or call at 0720764057.

Now we talking...see you all in the battle field.
I just think the organisation is a bit off putting my first grip is with the 'fuck' and a quote by Steve Biko on the same t-shirt I'm not sure if he would approve. I think the choice of words is interesting 'black government', and the 'black man is being exploited', and 'black man' 'inferiority' and 'poor', 'white interests', 'injustices commited against the black man'. I still dunno who they are talking about what are white interests, who is this suffering black man that they keep on making reference to, who are these
people that they are talking about. My point is that it seems they are making it out that goverment is bad, white people are evil and are being taken care of and the poor black majority sits and watches all this go on and is exploited. Not all the poor blacks that they talk about are innocent and
some are, but I get the vibe that all poor black people are innocent. It kinda comes off that they have not done their homework on the specific issues that are encountered by poor black youth. I just want to say one last thing, poverty is not synonymous with black people and they do not have a monopoly on it. They are many people that were hard done by 1994 black, white, coloured, indian etc it kinda comes off that they will only recognise black peoples suffering after 1994. Basically I think these peeps are shooting themselves in the foot by being so angry at random(I dont think they are tackling anything in particular).
I'm all in favor of challenging the system - and well agree that the 94' did little to change the real landscape in South Africa - simply replacing the old lot with the new lot.
But there are better ways to create change than this.
The choice of those troubled by their situation is to take the easier route and tear down the institutions they perceive as responsible for their problems OR to choose to take responsibility and build something new.
I wonder how many of our ancestors, sitting in caves blamed the weather, the Gods, the neighboring tribe or their parents in law for their problems. (legitimately or not) Fortunately there were those who got off their ass and invented electricity and running water and law and yes - government and universities.
Step in the wrong direction.
I have a great one for a T-shirt.."Just because I am Pro-Black, doesnt make me Anti-White"..
I think this is positive move to address the subliminal injustices that are inflicted upon Blacks. Lets forget about our individual conditions and concetrate on the collective conditions of Black people. After carefully scrutinsing the Black man's condition, I guerantee that even White people would themselve would not deny the appaling conditions that Black people are faced with.
I empathise with the black youth who feel so strongly about the 'injustices' post 1994. However, I feel we are so quick to point fingers and put blame anywhere we can that we sometimes miss what's right in front of us. If you live in a township and see how young people would rather get high, do crime, procreate and have unprotected sex - then you too would be pissed off at post 1994. Maybe we have too much freedom because we have become so lazy to think outside the box and the confines of our past. The present day youth is the post Apartheid youth who know very little about the extreme suffering our parents have endured. The liberation of the masses has come at a price - but what is that price exactly? I think the Blackwash movement would be best suited and more effective if it started mobilising the black youth who are despondent and apathetic to get off their behinds and make a difference in their communities and their own families. It is so easy to challenge a bigger system like government - but not so easy to challenge the very disgruntled youth who indulge in welfare grants and drink themselves to death just because they are depressed that the government is not moving them into surburbs and giving them jobs in skyscrapers.
lots of anger, but is it justified?
Quite possibly but I don't think so. Having a majority of about 10 to 1 in population numbers blacks far outweigh the political voting power compared to their white counterparts. So if the blacks are not receiving what the blacks want, well they need to use their number advantage and get what they want. Vote for the party hat is for the betterment of all.
I won't go into the "fuck university" slogan too much except to say how very short sighted to want to remove the instituitions that create education and jobs and wealth. As someone said talk about shooting yourself in the foot!
I have read similar articles and NEVER find solutions, guidelines etc.
Is the group making us aware of our situation or are they coming with solutions....what are they...what is your plan.
The post '94 system is not anti-black, it just anti-poor and pro-rich! The fact that most poor people in SA are black, are as a result of our history, pre and post 94!
Time to channel the anger into constructive debate, activity, civil society movements.....
Look at other African nations that have been independant for 40 or
50 years. Are the black people there rich and well educated? Only
the governments there are rich and powerful, but the people are
poor. For example Cameroon and the DRC, Gabon, GuineaBissau etc
Can they be a good example for South Africa?
Don't become the crying dog standing at the hole where the fat
white rabbit has disappeared into, never to come back!
Let us be positive and work together, not all this talk, but doing as
God's Word says. There is a Godgiven talent in each individuel ,
unlock this.
Don't be destructive or we all go down like the Titanic.
What makes this REALLY funny are the ads (an inherently capitalist animal) for interracial romance. Now THAT is irony at its finest.
“The black man is still inferior and poor,”
Let’s uplift him socially and financially by finding him a white wife. Hee hee hee.
Oh gads, I LOVE hypocrisy.
You go “fucking” ahead... whatever floats your boat. See where it gets you.
LMAO; very, very, very, very well said Gerry...hahahaha!!!!!!!!
Ironic, ain't it : ) LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BY THE WAY Gerry; have you noticed the 'GAY Interracial ads' ? LOL...get a white wife and IF THAT doesn't work....try a GAY white dude!!!!
LMAO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA.....*funny, very, very funny*
Ignorance is all I can say~
Half of the people commenting here is fing stupid - open your eyes, the black man wants everything handed to him (that is in SA that I am talking about). Fuck Varsity T-shits says it all - they want to teach us how to work - God forbid you actually work to make money, how does these funking people think we made it tot he top, not by stealing killing and raping but by WORKING !!!
I am also so tired of the white people in SA feeling sorry for being white and handing shit over because they are white - get a grip.
We had a girl work for us for a long time and we treated her with respect and love, she is human and we adored her but she worked for that respect, just like you do when you start a job, you have to urn peoples trust respect and love.
Maybe it is time that black people start fighting with their minds and not their hands and skin color.
ugg.
Blackwash is a collective of blacks, by blacks and for blacks only! We stand for liberation of black people, who want to be liberated. This means amongst others self governance and equitable sharing of our natural resources. But it also means we need to find collective and democratic practices to define and arrive at our final destiny. We understand white supremacy to be at the very foundation of the world capitalist system. White supremacy organizes everyday racism, exploitation, women oppression and destruction of the life. You can’t fight white supremacy without fighting against patriarchy, capitalism, homophobia and self hate at the same time.
We shall walk as we talk. We shall make our own mistakes; we shall learn and improve on our practice. Blackwash stands ultimately for the love of black people and the end of our suffering. We hope to oppress no one, but we shall not dialogue with forces which perpetrate our oppression. It’s a new day Vuka darkie…
Coz 1994 changed fokol!
We focus on South Africa as our immediate challenge, but we won’t stop there. We carry the spirit of Haiti’s slave revolt of 1884 in our souls and as an antidote to white supremacy. We believe what white supremacy has done to Haiti in the past 200 years is the story of black people the world over.
Blackwash’s first project is a counter-culture initiative that will uses unapologetic and vulgar T-Shirts to scream these truths from the margins. We scream that the honeymoon period of senseless t-shirts, music and other culture platforms is over. The Fuck project uses these accepted youth culture arenas to fight back.
Blackwash
its about time, we ought to be verbal about things. many of our ppl are still apologetic about their state of penury caused by these socially entrenched oppesors who were supposed to have been placed on the plain or shipped to whereever they came from. and we shoukd be nice and allow them to take their tooth brushes with. they ,ust leave everything else bacause everything else they say dey own (and we acceptthat they do) was made possible by our ancestors...
this whole notion of white ass licking and sucking whte ppl's ass must come to an end... why are we afraid of foreign investotrs pulling out,its not like the poverty has been alleviate.
i am really pleased to have found this site...
Ase!
"1994 changed fokol!"????
I work for a large Financial Insurance company.Just came out of a constructive meeting with my boss, who is the head of our department.
Oh ja,did I mention he is BLACK.
Look around you dumb asses!A lot has changed!
Here is a nice t-shirt slogan; "I'm black and bored"

Those at the top of the table throwing down crumbs to the poor black people are no longer WHITE, BUT AS BLACK AS THE PEOPLE CATCHING THOSE CRUMBS.
Have you not noticed all the black mamas driving 4x4's and the new south african black daddys driving the mercs and not even thinking to drop the poor black women at the robot a 5c coin because he is too rich to care about his COMRADE as they call each other in war cries.
Did you not notice that although the poor WHITES are living in garages and in camps that they are actually not drugging themselves up and drinking all the money that they were given for small piece jobs that they did away.
Do you not see that it is still the whites that care more about the poor BLACKS begging for food and glue. Stealing flat screen tv valued at R500 on the street and shooting WHITE women and children seem like the FUCK way, but that still only feeds your greed for one day, so then you need to steal another flat screen TV to survive the next day.
Soon there will be no more whites to kill or blame for your ancestral shit so please find some one else to blame it has been almost 20 years.
Your hate and anger, I think is misdirected because the top brass of SA are black and earning MILLIONS per annum.
DO YOU EVEN LIVE IN SOUTH AFRICA? Do you not know that only the whites are paying high water and electricity bills and the black ppl are getting it for free even tho they earn 5 times as much as the idiot white guy paying his bills.
ESKOM SAPS RANDWATER TELKOM SPOORTNET all black bosses and all FUCKing rich.
MILLIONS a year is spent defending BLACK fraud in the infrastructure of SA in court to just put them back in prime ministerial positions. WAKE UP PPL.
Also: The average income of a garbage collector is R 9000.00 and this possition is only available to BLACKS. At the banks only BLACKS get employed. The white children of the new SA do not stand a chance for any kind of employment.
EVERYWHERE there is sighns that blacks are priveledged.
Maybe you should wake the FUCK up.
US WHITES know how to be grateful for very little and we also know how to work hard for the very little we have that is what makes the difference between WHITE and BLACK we also know how to plan for tomorrow.
THINK ABOUT THAT NEXT TIME you want to kill or rape or hurt us. We are not the ones doing you harm it is your leaders NOW.
White and dissapointed!Well put mate!
This organization is anti everything. They don't want peace. They want militant action against all other non-black people. Wake the hell up. You only drag your names in the dirt by doing this.
Get off your lazy asses and get a real fuckin job. Don't blame your lack of motivation to work on Whites or any other non- Blacks. South Africa is famous for Killing/ Rape/ Theft/ Drugs/ and all other kinds of other shit. And guess what genius, "99% of these crimes are committed by who?".
Instead of making a plan to improve the living conditions of poor black South Africans, you guys are just making a BUCK out of your stupid T-SHIRTS, by using the anger in the poor.
WAKE UP POOR PEOPLE. THESE FRAUDS ARE JUST USING YOU TO MAKE MONEY. Please educate yourselves, don't get into this negative shit. You can make things better, don't behave like your oppressors in the past, be better than that.
ANYONE WHO BUYS THIS CRAP IS NOT A PERSON FOR GROWTH, BUT A PERSON FOR DESTRUCTION OF THEIR OWN LAND AND PEOPLE.
God help you all.
What a FUCK-ing idiot
Yes well put the FUCK group wants to use the poor BLACK oppressed nation to make money and be superior to the poor idiot making him rich by putting him in the oppressing position in the first place, does that not sound like the election of our first black parlement. eish ppl you caused your own misery and continue to do so at each election that you vote for the fatcats.
Maybe Tiisetso Tlelima wants to make money and be a fat cat but was left behind by her COMRADES and needs to be angry at some one so lets blame non-black
United we stand divided we fall. Black and white South Africans remind me of my two sons. They forever punch each other and argue but just let and outsider look for trouble with any of themand then you see how they stand together.
We could fling mud at each other for ever but it doesn't solve anything. I'm a white South African and I think the way forward is to actually try and do somethng about poverty. Why don't we learn from the Israeli Kabutz farms. Surely the government collects enough revenue that they could try buying a large farm and get experts to train and let unempoyed people grow food and learn skills rather than doing crime etc. Surely that would be better than doing nothing. They seem to have enough money to buy cars that costs as much as farms LOL! I don't care if the government is black or white as long as they serve the people who put them there.
Another thing that confuses me is that I'm not sure if nationalizing the mines is such a bad idea. Why should the Anglo America's of this world make all the money out of our country. I'll admit I'm no expert and perhaps I'm missing something.
On the other hand lets face it if the government had to run the mines can you imagine what cars they would be driving then!!
http://www.sowetan.co.za/News/Art...
go read this to support your cause
Well said.
There is freedom of speech in a democracy. It doesn't mean that people like her should be tolerated. In fact, this is an attempt to undermine the Government of South Africa. Tiisetso Tlelima should in-fact be detained by the authorities. Is is not a crime to stir up violence? We should all demand that this person be arrested.
Nationalization of the Mines would be the biggest mistake South Africa would ever make. Especially at this point and time. South Africa is not yet ready to take this step.
International financial support is greatly required right now. Pushing this "Nationalization" agenda is only scaring off foreign investment. Do we really want South Africa to become another Zimbabwe??
Very Valid points Karzerfku. As I said I'm no expert, just thought I'd put it out there. Definitely don't want South Afirca to end up like Zimbabwe.
What do you think of the idea of a farm.
Tiisetso Tlelima - As for the government looking out for the white interests. You are misguided. White parlement members - How many ummm none that can make a difference. Black parlement members - Too many that make no difference. How many white government members doing work for the black community umm Helen Zille sacrificed her very small salary to have toilets put in for her ppl (non-white) how many black government members sacrifice anything for their ppl ummm none that i am aware of, government (black) look out for their own interests just look at the news this week Julius Malema making millions of the government and who for, not the youth league and not the hungry women and children on the streets.
Those contracts awarded to the companies of which he was a director, have not even completed the jobs given to them, above other non-white contractors who also tendered for the job.
Talk about creating UN-employment in SA. These contracts if completed would have created lots of jobs for the communities in that area.
Billy, the only reason why we have not yet ended up like Zim is because the whites have not been driven of their farms and murdered yet, but it is in process just look up some stats on farm murders.
As for empowering the nation, we spend years trusting ppl and empowering them and on the say so of organisations like blackwash and the youth league, all that has been built by black and white together, is burnt or broken down for some wild propoganda and all based on the hate for the whites.
So what do you think is going to happen going forward?
Please don't think "a drop in the bucket" nation can change the moral of enraged and murderous ppl. The leaders of a communist country will only prophecy communism and not peace and prosperity.
BURN DOWN UNIVERSITY AND SCHOOL. that is the moral. kill the one opportunity to a brighter better future by burning down educational institutions instead of going to school and learning about the difference and what the difference will make in all our futures.
LAZY LAZY LAZY - is what they should be shouting WE DONT WANT TO LEARN so we burn the schools because we hate non-blacks....
WHAT A JOKE I AM is what that t-shirt should be sloganing.
Hi Billy. I feel that farming should be priority 1 in any country. Educating, and pushing work forces in this area could change the face of South Africa in no time at all. SA is one of the most fertile lands on the planet. It is a sin that we are not using this "gift" that has been given to us.
Look at the DR Congo. The most mineral rich country in the world, but also the most hungry. Everyone there is just digging out mineral wealth and people there pay 10 time more for food than we do here. (I have been there, and seen this). My point is if the government of the DRC was able to promote farming, 80% of their problems are over.
There was a project called the Green Revolution in India in the 60's, where the government promoted farming to an extent that now India is self reliant for food. No sanctions from the UN or other bodies can affect India now. Even though the poverty level in India are so high, the country can now has a reserve stock of food to feed 1.4 Billion people (in case of war/ etc.).
This simple basic industry, could make a huge dent in the unemployment of South Africa.
White and dissapointed.... well put, again ....
Hi Karzerfku.
So how do we get the government to wake up and get experts to teach our people to farm properly. And let the unemployed come and work and learn skills. Even the skills are other than farming.
as you said just imagine if our country could become the food basket of Arfica the way Zimbabwe used to be.
I think the government has the money to do it.
Farming, the ability to make from something small something big
making less, more
If dairy farms were able to set their prices at a level that could make it possible fot them to make a profit, they would not be a shortage of farmers in the Gauteng area. Instead the goverment sets a peak on prices that they are allowed to ask.
Same for wheat, eggs, and other farming.
These farmers leave their farms and that previously income generating farm that gave jobs to even hundreds now do not generate anything anymore
FARMING IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE ONLY THING THAT CAN SAVE THIS COUNTRY
Eleviate the joblessness of thousands, generating money through export, providing food thats not imported and putting money in the pockets of the shopowners that these workers shop at.
And on and on.
You may argue that imported products may be cheaper than locally produced products but if the goverment increases taxes for importing food stuffs that can be produced in SA, maybe less products from abraod will flow into the country , people will by SA produced products and that inturn will bring the price of our products down
I feel the government knows all this. They still do nothing. I feel its "us" the people, who should demand that industries like faming be installed and empowered. South Africans can feed not only themselves but also a large part of "HUNGRY" Africa. Again, this land is a gift, we must learn to accept it and use it.
And to Tiisetso Tlelima I have to say: "SHAME ON YOU". How can you talk patriotism by saying FUCK THE RAINBOW NATION?? Thats a South African saying "FUCK SOUTH AFRICA".
It was Madiba who said "Each of us is as intimately attached to the soil of this beautiful country as are the famous jacaranda trees of Pretoria and the mimosa trees of the bushveld - a rainbow nation at peace with itself and the world."
Ladies and Genntlemen: Tiisetso Tlelima hates South Africa. Thats means all of us Black, White, Colored, Indian, all of us.
Lets start a movement to get the government to turn South Africa in to the Food Basket of Africa. Lets stand togther as a nation. Government has the revenue to do it!
Amen Billy.
Tiisetso Tlelima, would you please print T-Shirts to this effect?
Every day in this country we work / hang / study with awesome fellow S'Africans but the number arsehole morons who manage to get their voices heard is staggering! It's like the dumber you are - the more you talk! And it's either the same tired old political slogons of the long dead, or populist ranting, or "poor me", or... Ahhh fuck!
“The black man is still inferior and poor,” says Ngceni - What the fuck does that mean?
"There’s no alternative voice for a black person", "it’s become taboo to say that you’re black and you’re suffering." - Whine, whine, whinge you fucking looser! How many succesful, confident or happy people do you know that talk like this? Its like you're waiting for shit to be given to you, like its you right. You are free in this life to be who and what you want to be. You WANT to be a victim 'cos you're scared you can't cut it! Fair enough, but but spare us your misery. Look around, there is a new generation you can be part of if you want. My black mate has a white girlfriend. I know a white afrikaans girl who wants to be a cop. I'm white and I have an Indian uncle. What we have in common is that we love our country warts and all, we are the architects of our destiny and we would never embarass ourselves playing "looser-victim" on a public platform.
Oh my goodness! OH my goodnes! And the above two are part of the illiterate racemongers that used to rule your country??? They think that YOU Tiisetso are the one printing these t-shirts?? Damn. I for one am speechless. These farmers are tremendously strange. LOL! It's so sad, it's funny. Bathong!?? HA?! WHO on earth said that YOU Tiisetso were part of Blackwash? I mean REALLY? do these people even know how to read? They just know how to talk. HA! I'm in shock wa itse. Pure shock that these farmers come to an arts REVIEW website to talk about their hatred for black people (and ALWAYS using the 'we had a black woman work for us and we loved her' STUPID-ASS STORY that's SO effing TIRED AND UNTRUE)
They must go get a life on another planet and leave the rest of us real people down here. stop trying to get our people into bondage and farm slavery - why not suggest that poor people get decent educations not bondage educations? They cant see that. They never want to see this country succeed under black leadership, and are SO damn happy when one or a couple of idiots spoil what's being built. What they fail to add is that the West is just as corrupt, if not worse, they just hide it better. The global recession, who is responsible for that shit? Toyota's recent lousy products? Parliamentarians stealing from British taxpayers? US healthcare about to take another toll on the world economy? that shit is not us. but these farmers with their farmer peabrains forget to say all that.
I'll just quote Johnny Rebel.
Still looking for a handout
Not so long ago I wrote a little song
And much to my surprise before very long
"Looking for a Handout" was sitting on top
Of the Segregation Hit Parade
So the nigger population keeps getting bigger
And since I got my first break by singing about niggers
I'll just sing two or three more verses
And see if I can't double up on the friends I've made
Now we've all heard of the NAACP
They say they're gonna make all them niggers free
What they mean is they're looking for someone to earn it
Bring it in the house, put it on the table and feed them
Cause their idea of freedom ain't being free
It seems they're more interested in getting it free
And me and my family and every other White man and his family
Could go for that kind of freedom
Still looking for a handout, things are still the same
Still looking for a handout, not a thing has changed
While they're on welfare, they haven't gotta care
Cause they like it that way
They like it that way
My mother used to say "son, a living comes hard
And you ain't gonna make it by sitting in the yard
You just can't sit around like a nigger
You have to get up off it and hustle yourself a job"
And after all these years I find it's true
And I sit and wonder like most White men do
Who in the world is feeding them junglebunnies
While they're demonstrating, causing riots and forming mobs
Still looking for a handout, things are still the same
Still looking for a handout, not a thing has changed
While they're on welfare, they haven't gotta care
They like it that way
They like it that way
Now my suggestion to their problem of being free
Is going back to Africa and be cannibals like they used to be
And they can spend the rest of their lives eating each other
Throwing coconuts and swinging from a tree
Or they could stay here and be our friends
And still be free like they've always been
And start earning their own way in life
And stop depending on you and me
Still looking for a handout, things are still the same
Still looking for a handout, they ought to be ashamed
But like I said before they keep wanting more
They like it that way
They like it that way
They like it that way
The world is awash with inferior minded people.
And to Tiisetso Tlelima, it is clear that you have a mind like a child and you will never ever be happy. It is sad that youe un complex mind has little in it to understand a larger picture of the world and this planet we live on. When will you get it into your obviously inferior liitle brain that all the people on earth are connected to one another and we all need one another no matter of race or religion. But you are like an animal, cannot think further than your stomach.
It must be bliss to be so ignorant, may be you and juluis should have a little "FUCK" FEST since you like that word so much. and since you like this word "Fuck" lets take it to the extreme. You are funckin idiot, do you secretly like to fuck white men and a baboon has more fuckin sence that you.
and let me tell you that this has nothing to do with race but everything to do with intellect of which clearly you have none. Attitudes that you portray will set our people back hundreds of years. and make us look like baboons to the rest of the world.
Dear MadameButterfly
I apologise for my ambiguity - I was writing in response to Pakama Ngceni's comments, not Tiisetso's article. I think if you re-read my comments with that understanding they carry a very different message.
Regarding your "we had a black woman who worked for us and we loved her" comment; firstly, yes - I know exactly what you mean. I actually typed that, deleted it and then decided to put it back in again. Why? 'Cos wording it differently, I realised, was just trying to be PC. I can't stand those multiracial, PC ads with the white couple on the beach with their black couple friends. Both couples seamlessly matched in their clothes, big smiles, income and bleached teeth. The reality? The reality is that we are worlds apart, the reality is that crossing the racial divide is done in small, sometimes awkward steps. Yes, I feel a bit uncomfortable being a party in Tembisa. Yes my black mate had to buy a swimming costume for himself and his son to come to my son's pool party. Yes its weird chatting to a Muslim woman covered head to toe in a burka but this is where the bridges are built. This is the work that we need to do so that our kids don't have to. Where else - and this is a sincere question - where else or how else can we connect with people culturally and demographically very different from ourselves?
To:MadameButterfly
Dear Once was a worm,
"What they fail to add is that the West is just as corrupt, if not worse, they just hide it better."
what you failed to add, if a politician gets accused of something or gets caught out they at least do the honorable thing and resign.
And also what you failed to add is that if it were not for these farmers you would be less than the worm and hungry. and maybe you also missed the other point, every black farmer that has stolen a white farm now has a piece of land that produces nothing but drunks and violence against their women and children.
So what is the difference in the bondage, when the black worker on the white farm that gets a home for generations enough food and education or the black owned farm that produces nothing but hunger.
Maybe Im stupid or something.
Alas the commodity has stolen our souls. All that remains is the Spectacle. Its the great achievement of capitalism.
http://www.bopsecrets.org/SI/debo...
I was born outside of apartheid.
I am white.
I must ask one thing. Why are the black youth so angry? You are given EVERYTHING.
The white people in this country have LIMITED to NO rights in most situations. And this is by LAW, not by some moral obligation.
You are afforded all of the Jobs, Education and Social Grants that you please. What do the white South Africans get? NADDA.
Your vision of "equality" is biased, you make life for white South Africans unbearable in this country - MOSTLY WITHOUT REASON.
I could sit next to you in school, then in University, and then in the waiting room for the same interview having achieved the SAME MARKS.
Guess what? You will get the job. Why? Because I am white.
If you complain about any type of oppression and start pointing fingers as to who is oppressing who, first make sure that you are completely innocent.
Our government takes care of white interests? What planet are you from? READ LEGISLATION - You are taken care of. Why do you think all of the whites are leaving? WE CAN'T GET JOBS. YOU GET GIVEN ALL OF THE UNIVERSITY PLACEMENTS, and you are afforded far more FREE support than we would ever be allowed access to.
If the economy is mainly generated by white faces, then simple logic tells us that WHITES are paying most of the taxes no?
Where do you think these taxes go? Have you seen the roads?
You have a black government taking care of the blacks.
madamebutterfly more like madammoth
you are confused when you say things like give them proper education rather than bondage education. the whole things is about BURNING DOWN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS ---- DID YOU NOT READ.
We are not dumb farmers and we are willing to work just as hard as the next non-white person to eat, oh yes i forget THEY ARE NOT prepared to work. STEAL RAPE KILL AND SHOOT THE FARMER and KILL THE BOER and MURDER THE WHITES with oozies and machine guns.
U R A FOOL.
How do you propose to rectify/heal/better our country.
Maybe give it to the minimalized population of South Africa again, like your plan(that failed no more than one year into the NEW SOUTH AFRICA) was pre 1994.
Thus, handing the goverment to non-blacks.
Im not saying all blacks are as ignorent and idiotic as you, maybe its just you and the goverment.
Everyday that goes by we see proof of Darwins theory of evolution with regard to some of these black in our country. I wonder if his theory was a bit wrong because they have do evolved yet.
good, just take all the shit of nigger back to Africa and make Europe clean
I think you guys are missing out on the point here. You say black people are poor because of white people, well, bullshit. white people are successful because we actually went to school and studied hard to get somewhere in life. We go to work everyday and work our asses off to make a life and living for our children. If black people dont get anywhere in todays new Sa then its because they are too lazy to get off their asses and to do something with their lives. Laziness is not a sickness but a state of mind. Stop bitching about how pathetic your lives are and do something constructive with it like studying and getting a job! black people must stop expecting to be spoon fed and just get everything for free. Get up and do something!
By me saying all this doesnt meen I am a racist because I am not, I still believe in a democratic SA and believe that it will work, but I also know that black people need to get out of their self pitying state and that white people treat them inferior because being inferior is a choice that every individuall makes.
Why don't blacks allow Whites to FUCK OF to their own Volkstaat. Then you can carry on as you like and see were the New (sic) South Africa would be within a year. No more whites to support 10 black families laying on their asses and not doing anything for themselves.
Money coffers will dry up within a very short period with your corrupt goverment. So just FUCK yourselfs
Ngecni why go this way. We need a white leader back again JZ and rest are stealing money from us. Hellen Zille will be best for you and me JZ only wants to fuck and make babies
Dear Madame Butterfly
I am going to write this message slowly so that you can read it slowly and understand!
I was not brough up a racist and have always believed in a Democratic South Africa.
In your letter you say that white people dont want to give the black people the chance to prove themselves and to show that they can runs things. Well then, maybe you need to wake up and smell the coffee, they have been running things for the past couple of years and in that time we have achieved what, lets see, one of the worst education levels in the world, and they want to lower it again to accommodate for the "Previously Disadvantaged", we have the 2nd highest crime rate in the world with a whopping 30% conviction rate, we have protests every week by black people against their own black government because service delivery has just disapeared, due to corrupt black officials. These are just 3 things to look at today and trust me there are lots more.
You see, black people have proved over and over again that they cant run things without the help of white people, that is why SA is just getting worse and worse and will probably end up in the same boat as Zimbabwe. Look at the mines for example, black people have taken over a couple of the big mining groups in Sa and what happened, they are being declared insolvent. look at Eskom. Eskom is run by black SA people and what has happened, we have load shedding, price increases on power that is going put a serious damper on our economy, and Eskom still says they need more money, but the black officials running Eskom all are millionaires after just a short few months of being employed at Eskom.
When you speak about our "Peabrain Farmers" you really piss me off, I am not a farmer and will never be because it takes a special type of person to run a sucsesful farm. Look at Zim, they have destroyed just about all their farms and guess what, they have to rely on food that is being imported every day cause they dont have farms to provide for them any more. Here in SA the Government has given how many black farmers full working and productive farms and what happens, they run all those farms down into the ground and those farms donbt produce any more.
Madame Butterfly, please send me your email adress so that I can help you get a decent education, cause judging by the letter you wrote you dont seem to be very well educated and you definately dont have an idea what is going on in South African politics.
So please leave the farmers so that SA can still produce our own food at least!
Regards,
Mike
Wat se julle nou. jou blog is 'n f*kop. niemand se iets nie want jy is te dom op terug te praat. Stupid idiot.
Translation: Your blog on this site is a failure, nobody respondes because you are a stupid idiot.
DEAR BLACK PEOPLE,
Hear from someone that lived in comunism for 45 years....we had to have a revolution to get out of it and let me tell you, U have no idea what you gonne get yourself in .....no Breitlings whatches are available, no blogs like this are allowed.....and in comunism the government is going to install itself FOREVER and everything will belong to the government and not one will share smth with YOU.
If you're willing to grow: let the economy develope in a naturale way by naturale stimulation and by free competition, let the big brains be motivated to produce and create great entreprenorial ideas and businesses to boost this third world country and everyone will get to good wealth and education.
they are too ignorant and think that if zimbabwe can survive we can, but they lack the knowledge that a human brain has and that is that in zim there are not 40 000 000 mouths to feed and there are not 40 000 000 baby making ppl continuing to breed. the food resources in zim is supplied by mainly SA and once SA has not got food for the hungry zim mouths to send, them zims will come and look for it and then the south african (then only black) ppl will have to fight for their existence against the black zims. if all us whites leace communism wont even matter. poverty and crime will rule and all the RICH black government comrades and leaders will have left SA and will be spending their riches on their own.
It amuses me that my fellow blacks expect me to apologize for going to university and having what I own. All we do is whine and whine. Kids born after 94 are toyi toying for free houses and dropping out of school. People look at Malema and see him as a hero. Wake up fellow blacks. There is no government in the word that is capable of handing out freebies to someone who sits on his butt.
I think the government should make a plan to take high school kids to other African countries, them maybe our kids will start appreciating what a great country we have and will start working hard to preserve what we have. This Blackwash nosense is a fraud, someone is surely getting rich from the t-shirts and I wont be surprised if this organisation is not being funded by government money. Wake up black people, we are no longer victims, go get education. come up with solution to help the government and FUCK BLACKWASH.
Ya'll stole the all the FUCKing Gold!!! Ya'll stole all the FUCKing Land!!! Ya'll stole all the FUCKing minds!!!! Ya'll even stole the FUCK outta all the ANC!!!
@ Educated Blackman
well done on your education, obviously looking at your letter it must have been a goiod one. To live in a democratic SA WILL work if more black people could be like yourself, cause that is something that no one understands, without education you cant do or achieve anything in any country.
Educated blackman, I think you should run for President, you have my vote!!!!
