Zimbabwean artist, Richard Mudariki, will be showcasing his artwork at Café Manhattan in Green Point until March 31. Richard is a contemporary visual artist who has developed a six sense and a third eye to create images of art that have creative meaning and attraction. Using a mix of oils, acrylic and water paint, to create special effects and textures, his artworks are interpretations of the society that surrounds him.

His work has been exhibited locally and abroad in galleries and during international art festivals. He has received a number of awards and prices including an award for the Best Visual Artist by the Embassies of Germany and Switzerland, and a merit award for drawing by the Embassy of Greece and the Hellenics Community in Zimbabwe.

The young artist says art and creativity have always been part of his life since childhood. His skill was honed at the Delta Gallery, an art school in Harare, under the mentorship of two great artists, Helen Leiros and Greg Shaw.
